Banja Luka Airport continues its record-breaking streak in 2025! In the first four months of this year, a total of 134,922 passengers passed through the airport.
The highest number of passengers arriving in Republika Srpska was recorded in April, said Valentina Kecman, acting director of Banja Luka Airport, during an appearance on the RTRS Morning Program.
“Banja Luka Airport keeps breaking its own records in 2025. In April alone, we had 47,000 passengers—and the summer season hasn’t even started yet. That’s an increase of about 40 percent,” emphasized Kecman.
She pointed out that demand is extremely high, which is evident from the performance of Wizz Air and Ryanair flights.
“Passengers have a wide range of travel options. The summer season definitely looks promising—it could be very intense. We will also have charter flights to three destinations: Egypt, Turkey, and Greece,” Kecman said.
She added that the long-standing issue of parking has been resolved, with prices now significantly more affordable than before.
“Parking used to be a major problem, with huge crowds and many dissatisfied passengers. Last week, we launched a new parking payment system, and we’re already seeing less congestion,” Kecman noted.
She also highlighted the importance of aligning infrastructure improvements with the growth in passenger numbers.
“Our next priorities are the repair and renovation of the runway. Work will begin next month, and we expect it to be completed by March next year. These upgrades won’t disrupt air traffic—flights will continue as scheduled throughout the process,” Kecman concluded.
