Orjen Nature Park is a mountain that will captivate and amaze you with its rocky plateaus and strikingly cracked cliffs.
Although Orjen may initially appear inhospitable and
unreachable, allow it to enchant you from the first steps and with its stunning
views.
This mountain is home to the famous village of Crkvice, known as the rainiest place in Europe, receiving about 5 meters of rainfall annually.
The Orjen massif is quite unique, filled with rugged beauty.
Here, you won’t find typical alpine landscapes, glaciers, sharp peaks, lakes,
or rushing streams. No, the central part of Orjen is characterized by vast
rocky plateaus, cracked cliffs, and deep pits.
Interestingly, despite the grey limestone terrain, the
mountain is also covered in the green hues of dense forests. Thanks to the
abundant snow and rainfall during the colder half of the year, this area
supports the growth of forests, despite its surface being waterless.
