"MILICA" FESTIVAL PAYS TRIBUTE TO ŠAMAC'S CULTURAL ICON

From April 16th to 19th, the town of Šamac will be immersed in the third edition of the "Milica" Festival, dedicated to Milica Babić Andrić, a distinguished Šamac native. Milica Babić Andrić holds the honor of being the first formally trained costume designer in our region and was also the wife of Nobel laureate Ivo Andrić.

The festival will commence with the performance of "Na Drini Ćuprija," a monodrama brought to life by the esteemed Serbian actor Tihomir Stanić.

On the second day, the Old Clock Gallery will host a presentation on the history, museum, and cultural activities of the Ivo Andrić House from Herceg Novi. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to view personal belongings of Milica Babić Andrić and Ivo Andrić, which are curated within the Ivo Andrić House in Herceg Novi.
