The festival jury recognised the visual identity of Martin Udio, highlighting the contributions of set designer Dragana Purković Macan, costume designer Ivana Ristić and lighting designer Nikola Zavišić.

“The set design by Dragana Purković Macan, costumes by Ivana Ristić and lighting design by Nikola Zavišić contributed to the overall atmosphere of this moving, epic dramatic chronicle in an outstanding production by the Banja Luka theatre. Their work achieved a stylistic unity with the director’s and dramaturg’s vision in an effective, sophisticated and highly functional manner,” the jury stated in its explanation.

NIKOLINA FRIGANOVIĆ NAMED BEST ACTRESS

Nikolina Friganović received the Best Actress award for her portrayal of Milka. She had previously won the “Zoran’s Moustache” award for actress of the evening.

In its assessment, the expert jury praised her compelling performance, which conveyed the tragic fate of a family and an entire people without resorting to sentimentality or exaggerated expression.

“Through precise, intelligent, restrained and above all striking acting, Nikolina Friganović encapsulated the entire tragic fate of a family and a people in the character of Milka, never straying into sentimentality or exaggerated expression,” the jury noted.

The jury added that, in Friganović’s interpretation, Milka emerges as a heroine whose inevitable fate leads to a cathartic confrontation with the recent past.
