The Center for Environmental Protection has scheduled a forest walk for October 5, 2024, at 12:30 PM, where children, parents, and older individuals will get to know the mysterious world of Banja Luka's forests.
We will gather at the house by the ramp at Banj Brdo
(Šehitluci), from where we will embark on our forest adventure.
The path is not demanding and is suitable for everyone. The
route is about 6 kilometers long, and the entire walk, including breaks, will
take about 3 hours. We will make several shorter stops along the way – the
Center for Environmental Protection announced.
The walk will be led by Nikola Pećanac, a forestry master,
our friend and creative guide. Through creative examples, we will learn a lot
about the forests surrounding our city and how to navigate nature.
If you wish to join the forest walk, please contact us by email at anja.dragomirovic@czzs.org or via the Center for Environmental Protection's Facebook inbox by 4:00 PM on October 4, 2024.
Minors can participate with parental or guardian supervision
or written consent. All children who bravely join the adventure through Banja
Luka's forests will receive a special gift—a coloring book titled “The
Mysterious World of Banja Luka’s Forests.”
The Center for Environmental Protection has submitted an
initiative to declare the forests around Banja Luka a protected area and is
working on developing a study for their protection. This is just one of the
activities aimed at familiarizing the public with their forests and
highlighting the importance of forests for a healthy environment.
