The adventure tourism season on the Tara River is about to begin, and rafting centers have already announced prices for the upcoming season.
According to the Rafting Centar Drina‑Tara, one-day rafting packages on one of Europe’s most attractive rivers will cost between 60 and 80 euros per person.
One-day rafting through the Tara Canyon
The one-day arrangement includes rafting along the most attractive 25-kilometre section of the Tara canyon, ending at the confluence with the Drina River. During several hours of descent, participants pass through some of the most exciting parts of the canyon, with breaks for photos, swimming and visiting natural attractions, including the Šipčanica waterfalls.
The program usually begins with the arrival of guests at the rafting camp in the morning, where they are welcomed with a traditional breakfast featuring local specialties. After that, participants receive rafting equipment and attend a short briefing that introduces them to paddling techniques and safety rules.
Guests are then transported by off-road vehicles to Brštanovica, the starting point of the rafting trip, from where the adventure begins through one of the deepest canyons in Europe.
What is included in the price
The price of the arrangement includes breakfast and/or lunch, full rafting equipment, a licensed skipper-guide, transport to the starting point, tourist and rafting taxes, national park fees, insurance, parking and all transfers during the program.
After the rafting trip ends, guests return to the camp where they are served lunch with traditional dishes such as veal soup, lamb or veal prepared under the traditional sač lid, homemade pies and traditional desserts.
Rafting package prices
For the 2026 season, the following prices apply at the Drina-Tara Rafting Center:
Prices are listed per person, and payment is made in cash at the camp. Organizers note that seasonal promotions and discounts may also be available.
Rafting without previous experience
No previous rafting experience is required to participate. The recommended minimum age for participants is between eight and 12 years, depending on the river’s water level. At least two people are required for the arrangement to take place, while individuals can join existing groups.
Due to high interest during the summer season, especially on weekends, organizers note that rafting departures may start earlier in the morning to avoid crowds on the river.
