WHAT AN EXCURSION TO TRNOVAČKO LAKE LOOKS LIKE

Trnovačko Lake, one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the region, is an ideal destination for nature lovers, hikers, and everyone seeking an active escape in pristine surroundings.

Located at the foot of Maglić, the highest peak in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the lake offers a perfect blend of untouched nature, fresh mountain air, and unforgettable landscapes.

According to the program published on the Kamp Tara 87 website, the excursion starts in the morning, around 10:00 AM, with a drive toward Sutjeska National Park. The journey takes about two hours, with arrival planned around noon.

The first stop is the Perućica primeval forest, the largest preserved rainforest in Europe, famous for its rich plant and animal life.

During the visit, participants reach the Dragoš Sedlo viewpoint, which offers a spectacular view of the Skakavac Waterfall, about 70 meters high and hidden deep in the heart of the forest.

After that, the tour continues to the Prijevor viewpoint, where a panorama of almost the entire Sutjeska National Park opens up before visitors.

From Prijevor, the ascent toward Trnovačko Lake begins. The hike takes about two hours in one direction, meaning around four hours of walking in total to the lake and back. At the lakeshore, participants are provided with refreshments and time to relax and enjoy the unique atmosphere.

Trnovačko Lake lies at an altitude of 1,517 meters, stretches over 700 meters in length, and is about 400 meters wide.

It is surrounded by the mountains Maglić, Bioč, Volujak, Vlasulja, and Trnovački Durmitor, making it one of the most picturesque natural sites in this part of the Balkans.

The return to the camp is planned for around 7:00 PM, with flexibility by arrangement. Visitors can extend the program with dinner at the restaurant or an overnight stay, and the excursion can also be combined with other activities.

The price of the excursion is 80 euros per person, with a minimum of five participants, and the possibility of an additional charge for smaller groups.
