The municipality of Gacko is expanding its tourism offer with two new adventure services – a zip line and inflatable canoe rentals.
The
project has been technically completed, followed by an official inspection
attended by representatives of the Municipality of Gacko, UNDP as co-financier,
as well as contractors and project supervisors.
According
to the Municipality of Gacko, the next step is the training of personnel who
will operate the zip line, planned for next week. In addition, the delivery of
seven inflatable canoe boats included in the project is expected by the end of
the year.
The zip-line route stretches approximately 549 meters, running entirely above the lake at heights ranging from 30 to 10 meters. The starting point is located next to the local asphalt road connecting Gacko with nearby villages, while the finish point is positioned on the opposite shore of Lake Klinje, on cliffs rising directly from the water.
The
entire descent takes place over the lake, ending near Gacko’s most popular
swimming area with a well-maintained beach. Transport for users back to the
starting point will be provided via inflatable canoes operated by trained
staff.
Management
of the zip-line facility will be entrusted to the public institution “Cultural
and Sports Center” Gacko.
Local
authorities express hope that these new attractions will draw a large number of
tourists and visitors, further enhancing and developing the municipality’s
tourism potential. According to available information, no similar zip-line of
this format currently exists elsewhere in the Herzegovina region.
