ABONOS TAKES HIKERS TO ONE OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA'S MOST BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAINS: REGISTRATION OPEN FOR ČVRSNICA ASCENT

Nature lovers, hiking enthusiasts and admirers of Herzegovina's breathtaking landscapes will have the opportunity to join a one-day hiking expedition to Mount Čvrsnica on June 21, organized by the Banja Luka-based hiking association Abonos.

The planned route includes an ascent to Velika Oštrovača (2,038 m), as well as a visit to one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's most famous natural landmarks – Hajdučka Vrata (The Outlaws' Gate).

A Herzegovinian Beauty with Spectacular Mountain Views

Čvrsnica is widely regarded as one of the most impressive and beautiful mountains in Herzegovina. Rising above the Neretva River valley, its rugged limestone peaks overlook Jablanica, Drežnica, Diva Grabovica and the Blidinje Nature Park.

From its summits, hikers can enjoy stunning panoramic views of nearby mountain ranges, including Prenj, Čabulja, Raduša and Vranica. Čvrsnica is also one of the highest mountains in Bosnia and Herzegovina, boasting as many as 15 peaks exceeding 2,000 meters above sea level.

Moderate Hiking Route

According to the organizers, the planned trail is approximately 18 kilometers long, with around 700 meters of ascent and descent.

The hike is considered moderately demanding in terms of fitness, while remaining technically straightforward. Participants will traverse a mix of rocky and dirt trails.

Early Morning Departure from Banja Luka

Participants will gather on Sunday, June 21, with departure scheduled for 3:00 a.m. from Banja Luka's main bus station.

The group is expected to return to Banja Luka later the same evening.

Organized transportation is provided, and the participation fee is 48 BAM per person.

Registration Open Until Capacity Is Reached

The Abonos Hiking Association announced that registration will remain open until the day of departure or until all available seats on the organized transport are filled.
