Tourists from Croatia have made up the largest group of foreign visitors to Bosnia and Herzegovina so far this year, according to the latest data from the BiH Agency for Statistics.

CROATIAN TOURISTS LEAD FOREIGN VISITS TO BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

Between January and the end of May, more than 445,000 foreign tourists visited the country. Of that number, nearly 80,000 were from Croatia, accounting for approximately 190,000 overnight stays.

Visitors from Serbia followed with around 60,000 arrivals, while tourists from Turkey, Slovenia, and China rounded out the top five.

In total, Bosnia and Herzegovina recorded just over 1.3 million overnight stays during this five-month period, including both foreign and domestic guests.

This marks a 5.3 percent increase in overnight stays compared to the same period in 2024.

Most international visitors are drawn to Bosnia and Herzegovina for continental tourism, as the country’s coastal offerings are limited solely to the small town of Neum. Neum serves as a seasonal destination during the summer months, offering around 5,000 beds—about 2,000 of which are in hotels.

Across the entire country, around 50,000 beds were available to tourists during the pre-season period, according to the statistics agency.
