MOST COMMON FEMALE NAME IN BIRTH REGISTERS: MILICA

The Republican Institute of Statistics announced today that the most common female name recorded in birth registers in the Republic of Srpska is Milica.

This information comes ahead of International Women's Day on March 8, when the role, achievements, and struggle for women's rights are commemorated worldwide.

Additionally, the Institute highlighted that the life expectancy of women in the Republic of Srpska is 79 years.

- The average age of brides at the time of marriage in Srpska is 29 years, while the average age of mothers at the birth of their first child is 27 years, they stated.

Furthermore, statistical data shows that the oldest bride in Srpska was 82, while the youngest was 16. Regarding divorce, the oldest woman at the time of divorce was 75 years old, and the youngest was 17.

These figures provide insight into demographic trends and lifestyle habits of women in the Republic of Srpska, underscoring the importance of ongoing monitoring of statistical indicators for informed policymaking and programs supporting women in all aspects of their lives.
