A total of 393,266 tourists visited Republika Srpska during the first nine months of the year, recording 928,226 overnight stays, according to Sanela Šimun, Public Relations Officer of the Tourist Organization of Republika Srpska (TORS)
Šimun
said that tourist arrivals increased by 4.4%, while the number of overnight
stays rose by 2% compared to the same period last year. Mountain destinations
recorded a 3% increase in overnight stays, while spa resorts saw a 2.9%
decline.
As in
previous years, the majority of visitors — apart from domestic tourists — came
from Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Montenegro. Among other foreign guests,
tourists from Turkey, Germany, Austria, China, and Italy stood out by numbers.
On average, visitors stayed 2.4 days in Republika Srpska.
According
to Šimun, domestic tourists achieved the highest number of overnight stays in
spa resorts, followed by other destinations with attractive natural and
recreational features.
“These
include various tourist locations that cannot be classified strictly as spa or
mountain resorts but still offer quality accommodation and hospitality
services,” she explained.
Foreign
visitors, on the other hand, spent the most nights in other tourist
destinations, followed by spa and mountain resorts, confirming the region’s
growing appeal beyond its traditional travel hotspots.
