ŠAMAC IN ACTION: CITIZENS JOIN FORCES TO BEAUTIFY THE MUNICIPALITY

As part of the traditional campaign “For a More Beautiful Šamac,” residents of Šamac, along with employees of public institutions, companies, and associations, took part today in cleaning and improving public areas, planting flowers, painting benches, and repairing children’s playgrounds.

Mayor Đorđe Milićević emphasized that the main goal of the initiative is to make the town and all local communities cleaner and better organized.

He called on citizens to take part in the activities and contribute, in line with their возможностей, to the maintenance of public spaces as well as the areas around their homes.

Head of the Department for Spatial Planning and Housing and коммунal Affairs, Vedrana Mihaljčić, told reporters that the municipality has been organizing the spring clean-up campaign for the past 10 years, with this year’s activities starting at the end of February.

She added that the activities will continue with road marking works, pothole repairs, removal of dilapidated buildings, and further park improvements.
