The city of Trebinje hosted the “Wine Fine” Festival, a celebration of wine, food, and regional culture that brought together 48 exhibitors from across the country and the surrounding region. Among the participants were wineries, distilleries, and food producers who transformed Trebinje’s Freedom Square into a vibrant hub of flavors, aromas, and music.
The festival was attended by Staša Košarac, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in the Council of Ministers, who announced that efforts are underway to open markets in the European Union, the Russian Federation, and other regions to domestic winemakers. Košarac emphasized that events like this showcase the investment potential of Republika Srpska.
“Republika Srpska is a good place to invest, and together with the city’s leadership, we are committed to supporting wine production,” said Košarac. “Trebinje is a jewel of tourism in Srpska, thanks to the vision of Mayor Ćurić and his team.”
Mayor Mirko Ćurić welcomed guests to Trebinje, the southernmost city of Republika Srpska, saying the city is open to all people of goodwill.
“Everyone is welcome to enjoy our wine and cuisine,” Ćurić said.
Nenad Ivanišević, Provincial Secretary for Economy and Tourism of Vojvodina, expressed his full support for the festival.
“We had no doubt about backing this event, and we will continue to support similar initiatives with the city in the future,” Ivanišević noted.
Radovan Vukoje, director of the renowned “Vukoje” winery and wine cellar, highlighted the importance of the festival for the regional wine industry.
“It’s crucial for winemakers to have a gathering like this that brings together wineries and distilleries from Herzegovina and the broader region,” he said. “The large turnout speaks volumes about the success of this event.”
Throughout the day and evening, visitors to Freedom Square enjoyed tastings of top-quality wines, brandies, and culinary specialties. The atmosphere was enriched by live music performances from guitarist Adi Šarenac and the vocal group “Kastel Nuovo” from Herceg Novi, creating a perfect blend of taste and entertainment under the iconic Trebinje plane trees.
