Višegrad has seen a record number of tourists during the May Day and Easter holidays, with demands for extra beds, confirmed the Višegrad Tourist Organization.
Acting director of the Tourist Organization, Branislav
Andrić, stated that Višegrad remains one of the most desirable destinations,
evident from the full occupancy of accommodation facilities.
"The May Day and Easter holidays being combined this
year allowed for a short getaway. We've noticed an increased number of tourist
arrivals, both in organized groups and individual visits," emphasized
Andrić.
According to him, the holiday rush is beneficial for
souvenir vendors, as no one leaves Višegrad without at least one souvenir, and
the restaurateurs are also content.
The Mayor of Višegrad, Mladen Đurević, expressed satisfaction with the large influx of tourists, highlighting the highest interest in the cultural and tourist complex of Andrićgrad.
He noted that tourists also visit the Dobrun Monastery
complex, Draževina, Višegrad Spa, the Mehmed Pasha Sokolović Bridge, the Ivo
Andrić Memorial Classroom, and enjoy water attractions.
"We expect tourists to visit all attractions and to
return to the City on the Drina. We will strive to enrich the Višegrad summer
with various events," said Đurević.
Višegrad offers around 100 registered apartments,
approximately 400 sleeping beds in private accommodations, and about 400 beds
in hotels and motels.
