The forum brought together representatives of the local citizens' initiative actively opposing the project, along with environmental activists and members of the Center for the Environment.

“This resolution reaffirms the commitment and unity of the local community in its opposition to the lithium mine on Majevica,” the Center for the Environment stated.

The resolution strongly condemns all activities related to the potential opening of a lithium mine in the area, including any agreements with domestic or foreign investors.

“It highlights the serious environmental and public health risks the mine would pose to the nearby communities and the wider region,” environmental representatives added.

The move underscores the municipality’s firm stance in protecting the natural resources and the well-being of its citizens.
