The traditional event “Winter Days of Višegrad” officially opened in Andrićgrad with a festive program featuring performances by children from the “Neven” kindergarten and students of the “Vuk Karadžić” Elementary School, the arrival of Santa Claus, and a rich holiday lineup dedicated to the youngest visitors.
At the
opening ceremony, Višegrad Mayor Mladen Đurević emphasized that this year’s
event was once again organized in cooperation with local institutions and
business partners, offering a diverse winter program designed to bring together
families, friends, and visitors from across the region during the holiday
season.
An ice
skating rink has been opened at the Byzantine Square and will be available to
visitors over the next seven days. Festively decorated wooden houses showcase
domestic products, a variety of pastries, specialty foods, souvenirs, as well
as New Year’s and Christmas decorations.
The youngest visitors were especially delighted by popular mascots, including a lion, Sonic, a giraffe, a LOL doll, and a unicorn. The holiday atmosphere was further enriched with warm tea, lantern releases, and a fireworks display.
Until
January 7, from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, visitors can enjoy the ice rink, a winter
cinema, creative workshops for children, a rich gastronomic offer, live music,
and entertainment programs for all generations.
The
“Winter Days of Višegrad” event aims to promote the city as a winter tourist
destination and create a welcoming space for social gatherings and the joint
celebration of New Year’s and Christmas holidays. Since 2017, the event has
been part of the official calendar of events of the Municipality of Višegrad.
