The southernmost city of Republika Srpska is bracing for a surge of tourists during the upcoming Easter and May Day holidays, with local hoteliers reporting full occupancy for the period, the Trebinje Tourist Organization told Srna.
Nikola Kokić, spokesperson for the Trebinje Tourist Organization, said that based on data collected from tour operators, hoteliers, and restaurant owners, almost every regional travel agency has organized at least one tour to Trebinje during this holiday season.
"What works in our favor this year is that the May Day holidays align with the weekend, so we expect that those coming to Trebinje for an overnight stay will extend their visit," said Kokić.
He emphasized that Trebinje's tourism offering is especially rich, noting that the city will host the second "Wine Fine" festival during this period, featuring renowned wineries from across the region.
"We expect an excellent turnout for both the Easter and May Day holidays, which will serve as a great prelude to the upcoming summer tourist season," Kokić said.
He added that the tourism sector hopes to maintain the strong momentum seen in the previous year, which was a record-breaking one for the city.
"And our hidden ambition is for 2025 to become the most successful year ever recorded in terms of tourist traffic in Trebinje," Kokić concluded.
