The end of December in Derventa promises a true winter wonderland as the "Derventa Winter Evenings" festival brings festive magic to the city from December 27 to 30 at Liberation Square.

Organized by the Derventa Tourist Organization, the event is designed to spread holiday joy to children and all visitors alike.

Festivities Kick Off with Moto Santas on December 27

The celebration will begin on Friday, December 27, with the traditional Moto Santas parade. Riders dressed as Santa Claus will tour local schools and kindergartens, distributing sweets to children and inviting them to the Liberation Square, in front of the City Administration, for the Children’s New Year program.

The program, starting at noon, will feature performances by Sara and Tijana, students of "Nikola Tesla" and "19. April" elementary schools, as well as skits by students from the "Mihajlo Pupin" Secondary School Center and the Vocational and Technical School. Children from the "Trol" and "Bambi" kindergartens will also take part. The day will conclude with a special New Year’s concert by Tijana Dapčević for the youngest visitors.

That same evening, at 7:00 PM, a concert of traditional folk music will be held.

"This is something our region is known for, and we want to bring happiness to everyone who attends. The evening will feature performances by folk ensembles ‘Veselo Doba’, ‘Ceranski Izvor’, ‘Lutalice’, ‘Vesele Noći’, singer Mara, the folk dance section of ‘19. April’ Elementary School, Cultural Artistic Society ‘Đurđevak’, as well as students of the šargija school. The evening will conclude with a performance by Apokalipso Bend, who will entertain the audience with traditional folk music starting at 9:30 PM," organizers explained.

More Music and Performances

On the second evening of the festival, December 28, the program will showcase local talent, including representatives of Derventa who participated in the "Rhythm of Europe" competition, acoustic duo Damjan and Nemanja, and Dejan Nović with his band.

December 29 will feature performances by the "Mozaik" choir, the Nović sisters performing ethno music, and the rock band Deminutiv.

Grand Finale with "Regina"

The highlight of the festival will take place on Monday, December 30, with a concert by the popular band "Regina" starting at 9:00 PM. DJ ČČola will warm up the crowd with an opening performance.

Throughout the festival, visitors can also enjoy a New Year’s Bazaar.

"The bazaar will feature handcrafted goods from local artisans and delicious culinary treats. We encourage local hospitality businesses to sign up in time to participate," said representatives of the Tourist Organization.

For those looking to capture unforgettable holiday moments, a special photo corner will be set up in front of the City Administration. The most creative and beautiful photos will be rewarded.

The "Derventa Winter Evenings" promise four days of music, culture, and festive cheer, making it a must-visit event for locals and tourists alike.
