WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE 5TH EDITION OF “KUL JUL” IN ŠEKOVIĆI

The fifth annual summer event “Kul Jul” in Šekovići will officially kick off on Sunday, July 20, at 6 PM with the "Kul Jul Bazaar," featuring local products and handmade crafts. The opening ceremony will be enhanced by a performance from the singing group "Izvornik" from Zvornik.

Later that evening, at 9 PM, the audience will have a chance to watch the documentary film “Champion Race in Šekovići” by author Ljubiša Milutinović.

On Monday, July 21, and Tuesday, July 22, the courts of Jovan Dučić Elementary School will host the 3x3 basketball tournament. The U23 teams will compete on the first day, while senior teams will play on the second day.

Wednesday, July 23, will bring the annual Oratory Evening, held on the stage in front of the Cultural Center. As in previous years, the event will have a competitive format.

The winner will be selected by a respected jury consisting of Dimitrije Ćeranić, lawyer and professor at the Faculty of Law in East Sarajevo; Rajko Lazić, legal expert and Secretary of the Red Cross of Republika Srpska; and local priest Ivan Savinović.

On Thursday, July 24, literature will take the spotlight at the Literary Evening, also held in front of the Cultural Center. This year’s guest is author Slaviša Pavlović, who will present some of his most notable works: Zavet heroja (2014), Apisov apostol (2016), Himerina krv: roman o Dučiću (2020), and his newest novel Osvetnici i klevetnici (2024).

Friday is reserved for the youngest citizens with a traditional children’s masquerade and a theater performance.

The curtain will fall on the 5th edition of "Kul Jul" on Saturday, July 26, with a grand concert by Željko Samardžić on the sports grounds of Jovan Dučić Elementary School.
