In celebration of International Down Syndrome Day, the Liberation Square in Derventa hosted the second inclusive fashion show under the slogan “Different. Unique. Our Own.”.
“We
gathered today to showcase our strength, unity, and equality, and to show
support for people with Down syndrome,” organizers said from Liberation Square,
where participants sent a powerful message about the importance of inclusion in
society through smiles and creativity.
The event was also supported by Mayor Igor Žunić, who emphasized that Derventa sets an example of the importance of fostering solidarity and understanding.
“We
support all activities organized by ‘Sunce’, as well as the ‘Budućnost’ Center,
and are always ready to provide any form of assistance. Derventa is a city that
nurtures equal opportunities, and we are confident that everyone has both a
place and a chance in our community,” Žunić said.
The
inclusive fashion show was organized by the JU Center for Children and Youth
with Developmental Disabilities ‘Budućnost’ and the Association of Parents of
Children and Youth with Special Needs and Disabled Persons ‘Sunce’.
