ACCOMMODATION PROVIDERS IN REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA GIVEN DEADLINE, INSPECTIONS AND FINES START IN MARCH

The Ministry of Trade and Tourism announced that it has repeatedly called on accommodation providers to register in a timely manner, extended deadlines and allowed additional time for compliance. During this adjustment period, no inspections were carried out and no penalties were imposed.

“Considering that the current pace of registration of accommodation service providers in the system is not at a satisfactory level, the Ministry of Trade and Tourism once again calls on all registered hospitality businesses providing accommodation services to register their facilities in the Central Information System without delay, no later than March 15, 2026, and thus align their operations with the provisions of the Law on Hospitality,” the Ministry stated.

After the deadline expires, inspection controls will begin. In cases where irregularities are identified, legally prescribed sanctions will be imposed in accordance with the law.

The Ministry emphasized that registration and guest record-keeping through the Central Information System is a legal obligation for all accommodation providers in the Republic of Srpska, regardless of the type or category of facility, and that access to the system is free of charge.

The establishment and full implementation of the Central Information System represents an important step toward a more regulated, competitive and responsible tourism market. According to the Ministry of Trade and Tourism, the system has been created in the interest of businesses and citizens, as well as for the continued development of tourism in the Republic of Srpska.
