The Tourist Organization of the City of Trebinje has announced a public competition for the creation of the official souvenir of the southernmost city of the Republic of Srpska. The call for entries will remain open for the next 45 days.
The goal of the competition is to select a
souvenir that will authentically represent the tradition, cultural and
historical heritage, as well as the natural and tourist values of Trebinje.
According to the official call, the future
souvenir should become a recognizable symbol of the city and a high-quality
promotional product intended for a broad tourism market.
WHAT KIND OF SOUVENIR IS REQUIRED?
Under the competition guidelines, the souvenir
should reflect the city’s tradition and cultural-historical heritage, highlight
its authentic natural and tourism assets, and at the same time be suitable for
mass production.
In addition, the product should be
economically affordable and meet both artistic and production standards.
Authors are free to use various materials and
production techniques. However, the use of autochthonous materials
characteristic of Trebinje, such as wood and stone, is particularly encouraged.
WHO CAN APPLY?
The competition is open to all legal entities
and individuals, while members of the selection committee and their immediate
family members are not eligible to participate.
Each author must submit one sample of the
souvenir in its original size and material, along with a detailed description
of the concept, materials, production process and packaging method. Entries
must be submitted anonymously under a code, while the author’s personal
information should be enclosed in a separate sealed envelope marked with the
same code.
Authors may submit multiple proposals, but
each entry must be sent separately.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The selection committee, appointed by the
Director of the Tourist Organization, will consist of experts in tourism, art,
ethnology, local administration and media.
Proposals will be evaluated based on the
overall concept quality, recognizability and authenticity, connection to
tradition and cultural heritage, originality and innovation, technical
feasibility and potential for serial production, practicality for everyday use,
and economic affordability.
AWARDS AND DEADLINE
If the submitted works meet the required
standards, a monetary prize will be awarded for the best souvenir, while five
shortlisted entries will receive material prizes. There is also the possibility
of signing a production contract with the author of the winning design.
If none of the proposals meet the criteria,
the committee reserves the right not to select a winner.
The deadline for submissions is 45 days from
the date of publication of the competition on the official website
www.gotrebinje.com.
