INCREASED NUMBER OF TOURIST OVERNIGHTS IN SRPSKA

According to data from the Republic Institute of Statistics of the Republic of Srpska, 180,072 tourists visited the Republic of Srpska during the first five months of 2024, achieving 460,897 overnight stays.

The number of arrivals remains the same as the previous year, while there has been a 5.2% increase in overnight stays compared to the same period last year.

Comparing the number of overnight stays during the first five months of 2024 to the same period in 2023, mountain destinations saw a decrease of 23.7%, while spa destinations experienced an increase of 13.3%. Other tourist destinations noted a rise of 9.5% (these are locations with attractive features such as climate, cultural and historical sites, as well as river and lake areas).

It is also noteworthy that guests stayed an average of 2.5 days during the first five months of 2024.

As in previous years, the majority of visits, aside from domestic tourists, were from neighboring countries: Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, and Montenegro. Other notable European countries included Turkey, Austria, Germany, and Italy.

By type of tourist destinations, domestic tourists recorded the highest number of overnight stays in other tourist destinations (these are locations with attractive features such as climate, cultural and historical sites, and river and lake areas), followed by spa destinations, mountain destinations, and other places (places that do not fit into any of the mentioned groups but have hospitality accommodation facilities).

Foreign tourists recorded the highest number of overnight stays in other tourist destinations, followed by spa destinations, and then mountain destinations.
