WORLD TOURISM DAY TO BE CELEBRATED IN ZVORNIK

The Tourist Organization of the Republic of Srpska will mark World Tourism Day on September 27 with a special event in Zvornik.

Representatives from the organization emphasize that tourism is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the Republic of Srpska, recording continuous growth for the third consecutive year. They highlight that investing in tourism is an investment in the future.

"I hope everyone will recognize the beauty and potential of tourist destinations in the Republic of Srpska, and that we will become a regional leader in tourism," said Sanela Šimun, Public Relations Officer at the Tourist Organization of the Republic of Srpska.

This year’s theme for World Tourism Day is “Tourism and Green Investments”, focusing on sustainable transformation within the tourism industry.

Šimun pointed out that due to the sector’s steady growth, tourism presents a long-term opportunity for economic development. “The sooner we all realize this, the faster we can make significant progress,” she said.

For the past 45 years, tourism professionals around the globe have celebrated September 27 as World Tourism Day, using various activities to promote the social, cultural, political, and economic value of tourism, Šimun reminded.
