The College of Tourism and Hotel Management in Trebinje, in cooperation with the Belgrade-based RICO Training Centre, is organizing the Wine School for sommelier training for the third time in the city under Mount Leotar. The program aims to improve the quality of services in tourism, hospitality, and winemaking across Republika Srpska and the wider region.
According to the organizers, an analysis of the tourism and hospitality sector showed a clear need for additional professional education in order to raise service standards and strengthen the overall tourism offer.
During
the previous two training cycles, participants had the opportunity to obtain
the titles of Introductory Sommelier and Certified Sommelier. Organizers note
that the candidates expressed great satisfaction with the knowledge and
practical skills gained during the program.
Lectures were delivered by renowned experts in the fields of enology, food and wine service, tourism, and marketing, including Prof. Dr. Slobodan Jović, Prof. Dr. Obren Gnjato, and Knight of Wine Slavko Bjeković.
The
third training cycle will begin on April 16, 2026, and organizers expect
candidates from across the region who wish to enhance their knowledge and
contribute to the development of wine tourism.
The
College of Tourism and Hotel Management in Trebinje has invited all interested
candidates to apply and take advantage of the opportunity for professional
development in sommelier training, a field that is becoming increasingly
important in modern tourism and hospitality industries.
