KOSTAJNICA READY FOR ANOTHER "KESTENIJADA"

The town of Kostajnica is once again preparing to host its beloved traditional tourism and cultural event, "Kestenijada 2025", from October 10th to 12th, drawing an increasing number of visitors from across the region each year.

While the event is centered around the celebration of chestnuts, visitors can also look forward to a wide variety of engaging activities, including the cooking of paprika stew, an ethnic handicraft exhibition, and a lively entertainment program.

"KESTENIJADA KOTLIĆ" COOKING COMPETITION

One of the highlights of the event is the "Kotlić Kestenijade" paprika stew competition, taking place on Saturday, October 11th, 2025. All interested teams can register for the competition at the Tourist Organization of the Municipality of Kostajnica, where they can collect the application forms between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

ETHNO EXHIBITION OF WOMEN'S HANDICRAFTS

In addition, the "Nevenka Stanisavljević" Public Library in Kostajnica has invited all interested women to participate in the Ethno Exhibition of Women's Handicrafts.

Those wishing to take part can submit their handcrafted works to the library on October 9th between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM, or on October 10th from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Further information is available at the library, located at Mladena Stojanovića Street No. 3, or by calling: 052/663–151.

Each October, the unmistakable scent of roasted chestnuts and the diverse program of events continue to attract numerous visitors to Kostajnica, making Kestenijada one of the most cherished autumn traditions in the region.
