Autumn carries a special scent and hue in the small village of Podmjedenik, nestled along the road that stretches from Pale toward Bogovići.
From
the “Stajna” mountain lodge, located about 17 kilometers from the town,
visitors can witness the gentle rise of morning mist from meadows and treetops
— a mesmerizing scene where nature paints with its own breath.
A
marked trail from the lodge leads adventurers to Novak’s Cave and the “Zečeva
Ledenjača” Cave, hidden beneath the slopes of Romanija Mountain. On the
opposite side, from the road toward Bogovići, another path winds its way to the
Sokolica Monastery, and further on to the Ozerkovići Monastery, blending
spirituality and natural beauty in a single route.
The
Mjedenik peaks, overlooking the vast landscapes of Jahorina, Maglić, and
Durmitor, stand as timeless guardians of the forest and the past. Below them,
Podmjedenik lives its quiet autumn rhythm — a reminder that true beauty often
lies in simplicity.
