Herzegovina is set to receive a comprehensive digital tourism map aimed primarily at attracting visitors from European markets, according to the Tourist Organization of Trebinje.
The
digital map, currently in preparation, is expected to showcase everything that
authentic and indigenous Herzegovina has to offer to foreign tourists. It will
include all rural households across the region, traditional crafts, and
authentic Herzegovinian products, which will be digitally mapped and presented
on the platform. In addition, all major cultural and historical landmarks of
Herzegovina will also be featured as part of the project.
“The
entire region of Herzegovina will be mapped, with a special focus on rural
households. Small producers will be given the opportunity to present their
offer, while the main routes will highlight the most important cultural and
historical values and landmarks of Herzegovina,” representatives of the Tourist
Organization of Trebinje explained.
The digital map, along with an accompanying website, is expected to be completed next year or in 2027.
The project is being prepared by the Tourist Organization
of the Republic of Srpska in cooperation with local stakeholders, with the
Tourist Organization of Trebinje acting as a partner.
According
to the organizers, the platform is primarily intended for foreign tourists and
the European market, with plans to later expand its reach to the regional
market as well.
The
project is planned to be financed through European funds, for which the
organizers will apply. Officials also noted that photographs and data on all
local participants have already been collected and are currently being
integrated into a single database.
“In
the next phase, or by 2027, work should begin on a unified web platform that
will allow tourists to easily discover everything that authentic and indigenous
Herzegovina has to offer,” the Tourist Organization of Trebinje concluded.
