The first international “Method Feeder Cup,” held at the “Tešendić” picnic area in Donja Lupljanica near Derventa, brought together 24 competitors from Republika Srpska, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia.
Mayor Igor Žunić welcomed the participants and praised the organizers for launching what he described as a beautiful new tradition.
“This
is a private initiative and a great tourism story for our city, as well as for
all lovers of sport fishing. I believe the City Administration will support
this event next year as well. Our goal is to encourage the local community to
support competitions for young anglers here and inspire them to love nature and
enjoy this sport,” said Mayor Žunić.
First place went to Darko Kelečević from Laktaši, who caught an impressive 27.220 kg of fish.
Željko
Rakić from Šabac took second place with 22.610 kg, while Milojko Kalaba from
Prnjavor came in third with 14.570 kg. Kalaba also landed the largest
individual catch of the tournament – a 5.270 kg silver carp (tolstolobik).
The
lake at the “Tešendić” picnic area covers 12,000 square meters and is home to
five species of fish: carp, grass carp, silver carp, catfish, and tench.
