93 YEARS OF LOVE AND WISDOM: A FAMILY GATHERING THAT DEFIES TIME

The end of the school year and the start of the new summer break are marked by great-grandmother Cmiljka Rikalo in an unusual, perhaps even unique, way throughout Herzegovina.

This year, the event took place on Trinity Sunday, June 23, in the family home of great-grandmother Cmiljka in the village of Dodanovići, a place where all the children love to come, and where they hold their first childhood memories from these gatherings.

We learned that every year, at the start of the summer break, this large family finds time to gather with Baba Cmiljka, who turned 93 this year. 

She does not wish to leave her family home even after the death of her husband Savo, who passed away four years ago. We also found out that this remarkably sprightly old lady remembers the birthday of each great-grandchild and is always the first person to send her greetings to her favorites.

What else can we wish for Baba Cmiljka but to live in good health for many more years and for this number of descendants to increase, and for there to be another younger one in her lap next year, as it is a place through which all have passed to the immense joy of Baba Cmiljka.
