Students in blockade have called on people around the world to pause and pay their respects on the anniversary of the collapse of the Novi Sad Railway Station canopy, on Saturday, November 1.
The students announced that the action “Stop, Wherever You Are! Let the Silence Resonate” will begin at 11:52 a.m. — the exact time when the canopy collapsed a year ago.
They listed numerous European and world cities where people are expected to join the commemoration, including Washington, Brussels, New York, Boston, Vancouver, Utrecht, Athens, Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Linz, Philadelphia, Edmonton, Dublin, Madrid, Doha, Melbourne, Zagreb, and many others.
In Novi Sad, a commemorative gathering will be held on November 1, with a large turnout expected from across Serbia.
The collapse of the railway station canopy claimed 16 lives, while one person was seriously injured.
