The economic and tourism event "Glamoč Potato Days" will be held for the 17th time on October 25 in the town of Glamoč, organized by the Glamoč Municipality.
This
traditional event aims to promote the Glamoč potato as a product known for its
high quality, while also showcasing Glamoč as a potential tourist destination.
Siniša
Šolak, Chairman of the Management Board of the "Glamočki krompir"
Association, told Glas Srpske that this year’s edition will be especially
significant, as it will mark the official promotion of the Glamoč potato’s new
status—not only does it already have registered geographical origin, but it is
now also protected by a trademark.
"Our
product is now not only legally and visually recognizable, but also verifiably
high-quality, which gives every buyer extra confidence," Šolak emphasized.
Interest in this regional brand continues to grow each year.
"The
total planted area under Glamoč potatoes with protected geographical origin and
trademark has increased by almost 20 percent. We expect around 1,500 tons of
potatoes with recognizable packaging and guaranteed quality," Šolak added.
The
event is expected to gather numerous exhibitors, producers, guests, and
visitors, and is once again anticipated to be one of the most visited events in
the region.
