A wave of joy swept through the home of Gordana and Veljko Tešić on May 17, as the couple became grandparents for the very first time—twice in just under three hours! Their children, Radislav and Dragana, both welcomed newborns on the same day, making the Tešićs not only grandparents but also proud parents of a new uncle and aunt.
The happy news first arrived from their son Radislav and daughter-in-law Jelena, who became parents to a baby boy named Luka. Not long after, their daughter Dragana gave birth to a baby girl, Anastasija, alongside her husband Bojan, as reported by Derventski list.
“This is truly a blessing, a gift from God,” said proud grandmother Gordana Tešić. “That day I was completely overwhelmed. Our daughter-in-law was due on May 25, but went into labor early, while our daughter’s due date was May 14. We never imagined they’d give birth on the same day, and just hours apart!”
Gordana recalled how the news came almost too quickly to process. “After we heard Luka was born, we got the call about Anastasija—and my phone literally fell out of my hands. I cried all day, from happiness and worry. But now everyone is home and doing well,” she added.
Grandfather Veljko was just as thrilled. “There’s a saying in our village: if your first grandchild is a girl, the grandfather becomes ‘grandma’—but since our grandson arrived first, I’m officially still ‘grandpa,’” Gordana laughed. “What matters most is that everyone is healthy. The joy is immense.”
Interestingly, Radislav and Dragana have always shared a close bond—even their birthdays are just a day apart. “Radislav was born on March 15, and Dragana on March 16, three years later,” said the family. “So double celebrations have always been a part of our lives.”
Now, with two new lives to celebrate, the Tešić family’s tradition of shared milestones continues with even more love and laughter.
