Interesting facts that marked the 14th Winter Olympic Games:

- One year before the official opening of the XIV Winter Olympics, all necessary facilities for their maintenance were built, meaning a total of 167 main and over 400 auxiliary projects were realized.

- Representatives of 49 National Olympic Committees applied to participate in the XIV Winter Olympic Games, which is a record number in the history of Winter Olympic Games in general.

- A total of 36,631,125 German marks were invested in the construction of facilities and infrastructure on Jahorina for the Olympic Games.

- Competitions in giant slalom, slalom, and downhill skiing for women were organized on Jahorina.
