On June 11 at 7 PM, the Banski Dvor Cultural Center in Banja Luka will host the grand opening of the collective exhibition “Craft Is Our Truth”, marking the 25th anniversary of the art school Maestro Dacešin.
The exhibition will showcase over 100 works created by students of the school, led by the distinguished artist Vladislav Dacešin. This event also celebrates a significant personal milestone — 50 years of artistic work by Dacešin himself.
Throughout his career, Vladislav Dacešin has exhibited at more than 70 exhibitions, both solo and collective, leaving a profound mark on the regional art scene.
As writer Milenko Stojčić once reflected on Dacešin's work:
“Many of Dacešin’s drawn characters emerge from shadowy mythic figures, shedding the rags and swaddling cloths of that ‘first image’ — the one that sees only itself. Dacešin’s line, therefore, dreams and awakens in a unique kind of drawing. Those who truly look into his drawings will discover poetic, Bashlarian spaces, filled with characters ‘rescued’ by the memories and impressions drawn over them. Dacešin does not underline the world — he overlays it with meaning.”
The exhibition promises to be a powerful tribute to both the enduring value of artistic craftsmanship and the creative legacy of a man who has dedicated his life to drawing, teaching, and inspiring.
