COW CHEESE WITH PEPPER, A SPECIALTY ON THE MENU OF THE BLACK QUEEN

According to legend, the Black Queen ruled this area during the Middle Ages. Although there are no written records, the legends tell of her presence at Mačkić Stone on Sitnica and that she retreated to the fortress of Prizrenac during an attack, where excavations are currently ongoing. Betrayed by her own ranks, she destroyed the mountain and moved to the viewpoint of Okomoljak, where she was last seen, according to the legend.

The legend also tells that she had her horse shod backward and managed to escape. Another version of the story claims she turned into a black snake, and her treasure was sealed in a stone jar through magic. If a young man with a pure heart appears on St. George's Day and allows her to kiss him, she will transform back into an unmatched beauty and offer him both her head and her heart.
