The opening ceremony featured speeches from Azra Džigal, Chairwoman of the Organizing Committee; Nenad Ivanišević, Provincial Secretary for Economy and Tourism of Vojvodina; and Goran Terzić, Director of the Tourism Department at the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton.

Among the honored guests was Petar Delić, Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Ulcinj, who expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to speak on behalf of the city. He emphasized Ulcinj’s pride in being this year’s partner city and highlighted the importance of tourists from Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina for Montenegrin tourism, especially Ulcinj. Delić voiced hopes that the tradition of holidaying on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast will continue in the years to come.

The first day of the Expo featured a series of inspiring presentations:

Dr. Nenad Ivanišević presented "Tourism Products of Vojvodina: Wine Routes, Religious, and Adventure Tourism."

Ana Salopek, Director of Product Development at the Zagreb Tourist Board, spoke about “Advent and Festivals in Zagreb: From Concept to the Best Advent in Europe.”

Maša Marković, Head of the Industry Department at the Sarajevo Film Festival, shared insights into the long-term economic impact of the SFF and its role in promoting Sarajevo Canton and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The fair offers a rich program of business and cultural content. Tomorrow (September 26), highlights include a talk with representatives from Intrepid Travel—the world’s largest small-group adventure travel company—a panel discussion titled “Digital Transformation as a Driver of Tourism,” featuring regional experts, and an awards ceremony for the top exhibitors. A workshop on sustainable tourism is also scheduled for the afternoon.

On the final day (September 27), visitors will have the chance to explore innovative VR applications such as Vladarice Balkana and StećakLand, followed by the official closing ceremony and a prize draw for attendees.

Organizers emphasize that Tourism Expo Sarajevo aims to establish itself as a recognizable international event and the premier meeting point for the tourism industry in the region, right from its first edition.

Tourism Expo Sarajevo 2025 runs from September 25 to 27 at the Skenderija Center. Opening hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, except on the final day, when the fair will close at 4:00 PM. Admission is free, and many visitors will have the opportunity to win travel prizes during the grand prize draw on the last day of the event.
