HERCEG NOVI INVITES YOU – FESTIVITIES, SUN, AND THE SEA

This joyous and highly popular tourism and entertainment event in the region promises 15 vibrant winter days filled with over 50 programs, including folk festivities, cultural performances, culinary experiences, children’s events, and sports activities. The festival serves as a lively call to welcome spring.

The grand opening is set for Friday, February 14, featuring a traditional parade of majorettes, the City Music ensemble, the Đenović Local Band, trombone players, and members of the "Maškare" group. The procession will journey from Škver to Igalo, culminating in a concert by two regional music icons, Ana Bekuta and Hanka Paldum.

On Saturday, February 15, the beloved Mimosa Harvest—a festival of mimosa flowers, fish, and wine along the Riviera—will take place. Visitors in Baošići can enjoy a performance by Goca Tržan, followed by a grand masquerade ball at the Igalo Institute, where Indira Levak (formerly of Colonia) will entertain the crowd. For those skipping the masquerade, an open-air concert by Garavi Sokak will be held in Igalo.

Sunday, February 16, brings the exciting beach picigin competition at "Rafaelo" beach, accompanied by a performance by Ansambl Toć, and an evening concert by Marko Louis on the Igalo plateau.

The excitement continues into the next weekend with the 8th International Carnival on Saturday, February 22. Carnival groups will parade from the Tito Villa Park to the Igalo plateau, followed by an open-air masquerade ball and a concert by the much-loved band Hari Mata Hari.

A new addition to this year’s program is the Boka Street Pasta Festival, the first-ever pasta cooking competition held on Škver on Wednesday, February 19, featuring performances by local musicians. The same day, the Lazure Hotel will host the Wine Salon in the morning. The weekend will conclude with a children’s masquerade ball at the Igalo Institute on Sunday, February 23.

The final weekend kicks off with a concert by Crvena Jabuka on Friday, February 28, in Igalo. On Saturday, March 1, the festival’s highlight, "The Trial of the Culprit"—where the symbolic "culprit" for all misfortunes in Herceg Novi in 2024 will face justice—will take place. The evening will feature an electrifying performance by the celebrated artist Gibonni on the Igalo plateau.

The festival will wrap up on Sunday, March 2, with demonstrations of traditional Boka skills, including the card games briškula and trešeta, along with the popular Karotrc soapbox race, scheduled for March 9.

Additionally, the Mimosa Festival will feature a three-day Flower Exhibition, the Fishermen’s Evening, theater performances by Zvezdara Theater and the Little Theater "Duško Radović," literary evenings, art exhibitions, a concert by the Sloga Folklore Ensemble, the traditional Belgrade Days, and numerous sports events.

The 56th Mimosa Festival is organized by the Municipality of Herceg Novi, the Herceg Novi Tourist Organization, and the Public Cultural Institution "Herceg Fest," with the support of numerous sponsors and festival partners.
