On the main road between Šipovo and Kupres, above the village of Vagan, lies the famous Vagan Cave, located approximately 19 km from the center of Šipovo.
The cave is divided into eight sections: Shepherd's Hall,
Fox's Channel, Simo Šolaja Gallery, Janjski Channels, Ceremonial Hall, Giants'
Hall, Abyss Channel, and Rade Marijan Hall.
As a natural attraction open to tourists, Milorad Popadić
has captured stunning footage of the cave for our readers.
The Vagan Cave is of the original type, formed by sinking waters. Along with the Orlovača Cave, it is one of the most significant formations of its kind in the Republic of Srpska. It is particularly interesting due to its abundant cave decorations, including stalactites and stalagmites.
Professor Dr. Radenko Lazarević has thoroughly explored the cave,
and his findings were published in a book in 1999.
Currently, 420 meters of the cave have been explored, covering
an area of 1,704 square meters.
