TOURISM AWARD ARRIVES IN RIBNIK

TOURISM AWARD ARRIVES IN RIBNIK

At a ceremony held in Sarajevo, the Ribnik Tourist Organization was honored with the “Tourism Initiative of the Year” award for their innovative project, The Black Queen’s Menu.

  • This recognition serves as a great motivation for us to continue working diligently on improving tourism and creating new, attractive experiences that will draw even more visitors,—stated representatives of the Ribnik Tourist Organization.

The story of the Black Queen began with a legend that inspired the development of this unique tourism product.

Initially, a scenic trail leading to the Okomoljak viewpoint was established. The viewpoint features a photo frame for creating personalized postcards, marking the first step in crafting an unforgettable experience for visitors. Soon after, The Black Queen’s Menu was created with the goal of involving local producers. For instance, the Women’s Association Vrbljani, known for their sloe berry liqueurs and juices, became an integral part of the menu, alongside the Sladojević Agricultural Estate, whose black cheese and buckwheat pie found their place on the table.

At the Simetić Rural Household, guests can savor these specialties, while the unique Black Queen’s craft beer, produced by the Varcar Brewery from Mrkonjić Grad, uses sloe berries from the Sana River Canyon.

The project has received support from the Tourist Organization of Republika Srpska and has been recognized by the travel agency Putomanija from Banja Luka, which brought the first organized group of tourists to Ribnik. However, this is just the beginning, as the story of the Black Queen is set to grow and evolve with new features and experiences.
