The German company Mubea, one of the global leaders in the production of automotive components, is preparing to launch production in Bosnia and Herzegovina, specifically in Derventa. This information was confirmed to BiznisInfo.ba by Christian Carius, Director of Corporate Development and Government Affairs at this German giant.
It was previously speculated that the company would open a production facility in Prnjavor. However, Carius revealed to BiznisInfo that they are actually preparing to start production in Derventa. The company is already registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina and currently employs 90 workers.
The start of production in
Derventa is planned for the beginning of 2025.
This way, the German giant aims to meet the deadlines it has towards its customers regarding deliveries.
"This does not mean that we have stopped everything
related to Prnjavor, but at the moment we are focusing on starting production
in Derventa," said Carius.
When
asked about the investment in Prnjavor that was previously discussed, he
responded, "The future is open." "Currently, we have 90 people
employed. If things develop well, we expect to reach a number of 1,000 by 2030
or 2032," he said.
According to BiznisInfo, the planned amount that this company plans to invest in Bosnia and Herzegovina over the next eight years is around 38 million euros. The launch of automotive parts production in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be in line with similar facilities that the company has in Austria, the Czech Republic, and Morocco.
