BABINO BRDO EARNS FOUR-STAR STATUS

The former "Babino Brdo" motel near Derventa has taken a significant step forward in its business operations and now proudly holds the status of a four-star hotel.

This achievement is the result of years of dedication and investment in service quality, infrastructure, and the overall guest experience.

Of course, obtaining this classification required meeting the strict criteria set by the Ministry of Trade and Tourism. A commission thoroughly inspected every aspect of the hotel's offerings, underscoring the seriousness of the process.

"The transition to a higher category was a logical step after all the improvements we introduced. This status not only validates our work but also shows that we are on the right path of development," said Zlatko Okolić, the hotel manager, as reported by Derventa Cafe.

Expanded Offerings and Additional Amenities

Hotel Babino Brdo now boasts significantly improved accommodation facilities. It offers a total of 24 beds, including two spacious family apartments, rooms with double beds, and four modernly equipped bungalows. All accommodation units are equipped with high-speed internet, TV, a mini-bar, free parking, and high-quality hotel amenities.

Guests can enjoy numerous additional benefits, such as room service, mini-bars in each room, bicycle rentals, table tennis, and other social games, printing and scanning options, a lobby laptop for business guests, and covered parking spaces.

"Currently, we have a children's playground in a natural setting within a pine forest, and we plan to expand it into a small adventure park with several domestic animals," said Okolić.

Future Plans

"We do not plan to stop here. We have already started constructing two luxury apartments with jacuzzis, which will combine a modern interior with the traditional exterior of an old house – 'kijera.' Additionally, we plan to renovate all rooms, expand certain accommodation units, and enhance the hotel's entrance," added Okolić.

As part of future plans, special attention will be given to the development of the hotel restaurant, which will continue offering top-tier culinary specialties. During winter, guests can enjoy the warmth of a fireplace while indulging in local delicacies, while the summer garden, nestled in a pine forest, provides the perfect setting for relaxation away from the city's hustle and bustle.

Moreover, the hotel offers the possibility of hosting various celebrations, seminars, and business meetings in its wedding hall and conference spaces.

Contribution to the Local Community

Hotel Babino Brdo significantly contributes to the local economy through employment, tax payments, and partnerships with numerous companies. A large number of visitors, especially from Croatia and the wider region, bring additional revenue to the city of Derventa through accommodation taxes and tourism-related activities.

"We will continue working in collaboration with the Derventa Tourist Organization and the City Administration to jointly contribute to the development of our city," Okolić emphasized.

"From the very beginning, our goal has been to ensure that all investments and improvements in the hotel remain within our city, contributing to its growth—and that will remain the case in the future. The hotel employs a significant number of people, regularly pays taxes, and through collaboration with various companies, establishes strong economic ties. Additionally, a large number of visitors come to Derventa specifically because of Babino Brdo, particularly from Croatia and the broader region, directly benefiting the local economy through accommodation taxes, increased spending, and strengthening the city's industry," noted the Babino Brdo manager.

A Rich History

The Babino Brdo complex has been providing tourism and hospitality services since 1968. Built in an ethno-style, the motel was a well-known venue for business meetings and social gatherings for decades. Until the 1990s, significant business agreements were signed here, including contracts formalized by the company "Zvečevo" at this very location.

After a brief hiatus, the establishment was reopened in 2016 and has since experienced continuous growth and development. Today, Hotel Babino Brdo successfully blends tradition with modern luxury, offering guests an unforgettable experience of rest and enjoyment in nature.
