Located in the canyon of the Prača River, within the Rogatica area, the cave is renowned for its stunning morphology and nearly 10,000 meters of underground passages, making it the largest cave system in the Republic of Srpska.

As confirmed by Predrag Ujić, Director of the Rogatica Tourist Organization, the Italian speleologists managed to resolve some of the uncertainties from previous explorations during their visit.

According to Ujić, the expedition brought new insights, and researchers discovered as many as four new caves, which will become the focus of further study.

The head of the Italian speleology team emphasized the positive relationship with the local community, expressing particular gratitude to the local Tourist Organization, which is set to receive a detailed report on the findings from the Govještica Cave visit.
