Located just eight kilometers from Gacko, this artificial lake, the first of its kind in the Republic of Srpska, captivates visitors with its tranquility, historical importance, and recreational potential.

Klinje Lake is not just a recreational haven for fishermen and nature lovers – it also holds an impressive architectural landmark. It is home to the oldest arch dam in the Balkans, which is also a monument under state protection.

Built between 1891 and 1896, this dam is unique for the materials used in its construction – Gacko stone bonded with volcanic ash from Mount Vesuvius! Standing 26 meters high, the Klinje Dam proudly withstands the test of time, preserving its monumental and historical significance.

Recognizing the area's tourism potential, the Government of the Republic of Srpska has included plans for expanding the tourism offer with the construction of luxury hotels, ethno-villages, and recreational facilities.

Klinje Lake is poised to become the perfect spot for a getaway in nature, swimming, and enjoying the serene mountain landscapes.

Whether you're a lover of nature, history, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat far from the city bustle, Klinje Lake is your next destination. This beautiful lake invites you to discover its stories, history, and irresistible natural charm.
