With an area of 18,000 hectares of fertile and arable land, Nevesinjsko Polje is one of the largest karst fields in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This makes it a significant potential area for the
production of healthy food, the development of eco-tourism, as well as other
forms of tourism and related economic sectors and traditional occupations of
the residents of the Nevesinje municipality.
The largest settlement in the field is Nevesinje itself, and in addition to it, there are about thirty smaller villages and towns along its edges.
The population in Nevesinjsko Polje engages in agriculture,
vegetable growing, fruit cultivation, and livestock farming.
The vegetation in this field is dominated by shrubs, bushes,
and low trees.
