Meteorologist Bakir Krajinović from the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute pointed out that a large anticyclone over the European continent has brought sunny and dry days, which are rare for the beginning of May.

"This year, a large anticyclone positioned over the European continent has resulted in beautiful weather for the Labor Day holidays… It's not a common situation to have such a long period without rain or severe weather," said Krajinović.

Temperatures in many parts of the country reached nearly 30°C, which is well above the average for this time of year.

Krajinović added that this was ideal weather for relaxation and outdoor activities, but also "a break before the summer season."

Spring at the Sea? "Perfect for Those Who Don't Like Summer Heat"

Speaking about spending time on the Adriatic during the spring months, Krajinović emphasized that the conditions are perfect for enjoying the seaside:

"The conditions are ideal for those who love the sun but not the intense heat. The breeze, with temperatures reaching up to 30°C and a lower UV index, makes the stay exceptionally comfortable."

For those who can't handle intense heat, spring is a better option than July and August, when high temperatures and UV levels can be harmful to health.

Rain, Clouds, and a Significant Temperature Drop Starting Monday

According to forecasts, significant weather changes are expected across the region starting Monday.

"On Monday, a major change will occur – the anticyclone will lose its influence, and the Genoa cyclone will move in. We expect many more clouds, rain showers, and temperatures to drop by up to 10°C," said the meteorologist.

In Bosnia, daily temperatures are expected to fall below 20°C, while in the south of the country, maximum values will only reach that limit. The most intense rainfall is expected in the south, southwest, and central parts, from Banja Luka through Bugojno and Zenica to Tuzla.

Unstable May – Stabilization Expected Only at the End of the Month

Meteorologist Krajinović warns that unstable weather will continue throughout May:

"An unstable atmosphere, frequent rain showers with thunderstorms, and temperatures 2-3°C higher than the average – that’s the picture of May. A more stable period is expected only at the end of the month and at the beginning of June, when the first heatwave may arrive," Krajinović told N1.
