FEBRUARY WEATHER FORECAST: A TEMPERATURE ROLLERCOASTER AHEAD

Meteorologist Ivan Ristić predicts that February will bring a true weather rollercoaster across the region, with almost all seasons making an appearance from week to week.

FEBRUARY WEATHER FORECAST: A TEMPERATURE ROLLERCOASTER AHEAD

According to Ristić, the beginning of the month will be marked by the return of winter conditions and significantly lower temperatures compared to the unusually warm end of January, which saw above-average readings.

Between February 1 and 10, Bosnia and Herzegovina will experience variable weather but without significant precipitation. Temperatures will range from a low of minus three degrees Celsius to a high of six degrees.

"With the new month, winter days return. Morning frost and sub-zero temperatures will dominate, while daytime highs will not exceed 10 degrees. Forecasts suggest daytime temperatures will range between 4 and 8 degrees, which is within the seasonal average for February. This is a winter month, so cold, snow, and below-zero readings are expected. Unlike January, when some cities recorded temperatures as high as 22 degrees, February will begin with cold weather, rain, sleet, and snow in the mountains," Ristić explains.

As the month progresses, winter conditions will extend to lower-lying areas as well.

"I am referring to even colder days and snow not just in the mountains but across most parts of the country. From the second week of February onward, we can expect snowfall, which is typical for this time of year," the meteorologist states.

In the second half of February, two cyclones will merge, leading to significant weather shifts.

"This will create conditions for various winds to blow, including Asian air masses moving toward Europe. As a result, we expect cold but dry weather. By mid-month, significant precipitation will subside, and the impact of the merging cyclones will also be felt in Serbia, keeping temperatures low, with highs reaching only up to 10 degrees Celsius," Ristić reveals.

When asked about the weather outlook for late February, the meteorologist emphasizes that this month will indeed be a dramatic temperature ride.

"We will experience all possible weather scenarios. After the period of low temperatures, snow, and frost, a complete shift is expected around February 20. Current forecasts indicate a return to above-average warmth and sunshine in the last days of the month, with temperatures potentially reaching 20 degrees once again," Ristić concludes.
