Barik Krajinović, a meteorologist from the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina, shared this forecast.

"It is likely that the greatest temperature deviations will occur in March, as shown by the recorded values during this month. In a very short period, we had temperatures exceeding 20 degrees Celsius, and just a few days ago, the morning temperatures dropped to as low as minus 10 degrees Celsius," explained Krajinović.

The probability of having a warmer season than usual is very high, with estimates above 60 percent.

"Spring 2025, compared to the same period last year, should be somewhat cooler. Last year’s spring was exceptionally warm, and one of the hottest since records began," Krajinović said.

When it comes to precipitation, the total amount of rainfall, according to the same forecasting data, is expected to be below the long-term average in the central and southern regions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. On the other hand, rainfall in the northern and northeastern parts of the country should be around or slightly above average.

"As usual for spring, precipitation distribution will be uneven. This will be another in a series of warmer seasons with slightly lower rainfall amounts than usual. This is a continuation of similar scenarios we've been seeing for four consecutive years in Bosnia and Herzegovina," Krajinović explained.

Speaking about short-term weather forecasts, Krajinović highlighted that, up until March 24th, the weather in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be influenced by a mild and dry air mass that has moved in from northern Europe.
