Lake Mezgraja was created after a former surface coal mine was closed and gradually filled with underground water, transforming it into a calm, clean, and exceptionally beautiful lake. Today, it stretches about 650 meters in length and 250 meters in width, with a depth ranging between six and nine meters.

Emerald water and energy-boosting peace

What first catches every visitor’s eye is the unusual emerald color of the water and the lake’s remarkable cleanliness. Free of pollutants, Mezgraja is considered one of the most preserved and well-kept natural spots in this part of the Republic of Srpska.

People do not come here only for the view of the lake. Visitors enjoy walks along the shore, breathing fresh air, and observing a landscape that blends water, reeds, rushes, and forest into a perfect natural harmony. This very combination gives Mezgraja a special, almost fairytale-like appearance.

A paradise for anglers and nature lovers

The lake is home to many fish species such as carp, pike, rudd, grass carp, tench, chub, perch, as well as other small white fish, making it especially attractive to fishing enthusiasts.

Whether you come with family, friends, or alone in search of peace, Mezgraja offers an ideal setting for picnics, walks, photography, and complete relaxation, far from noise and crowds.

If you are looking for a place for a short escape into nature, Lake Mezgraja is an address worth marking on your travel map.
